Ranya will be mostly in NYC through summer 2008. Private and semi-private lessons are available by appointment. The Special Topics page will be updated shortly. SUMMER-FALL 2008 PERFORMANCES


Wednesday August 6, early evening: Ranya performs with Najib Shaheen's Arabic music ensemble in the Bronx in Van Cortlandt park for the public. Exact location details and time will be announced soon.

Saturday September 13, 2:00pm: Ranya & company perform FREE concert at Flushing Public Library auditorium in Flushing, Queens.

Saturday October 18, KITCHENER, ONTARIO, CANADA: Ranya is featured guest artist at Haft Vadi's annual Bewitching Bellydance Ball, a fantastically creative event! Ranya will also teach workshops that weekend. http://haftvadi.com

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR BECKY STEWART MEMORIAL BENEFIT BENEFIT SHOW! We sold out and received so many additional donations--thank you! We raised over $1700 for the Komen for the Cure organization, which supports breast cancer victims and funds research towards a cure. Special thanks to Adnil Ramos for organizing the show and to the talented dancers who performed, and to our wonderful audience.

April 23-27: Ranya Renee and Maqamikaze will be performing in Toronto, Ontario, at the 2nd International Bellydance Conference of Canada this week. Ranya will perform a solo at the Remix 8pm show Wed. April 23 (Hungarian Cultural Center), and then with Maqamikaze in the new-and-improved "Alf Leyla w'Leyla (in the library)" on Friday April 25 in the Mainstage show (same location). Maqamikaze dancers performing in this show are Zahirah, Tais, Leena, and Jaida (who is herself performing on the mainstage on Thurs.!) Ranya will also be teaching a special workshop on Breathwork for Performance at the conference Saturday April 26, 11:30am, open to anyone with a full pass to the conference or a seminar room pass (just CAN$35).
